The Great Mail Race
Students have started a new project called “The Great Mail Race”. Each one has been assigned a state and is busy writing a letter of introduction that describes what a 5th grader’s life is like here in Round Rock, Texas. Soon we will mail our letters along with a survey, one to a school in each of the 50 states. Our hope is to get back as many as possible from all across the country. Some of you have already sent in some stamps for us to use, but we need a total of 100. You may feel led to send us a book of stamps, and that would be great, but if everyone brought two, we would be in good shape.
Can’t wait to share with you all the interesting things we learn about other states!

THIS IS SOO AWESOME
Our class recieved your “Great Mail Race Questionaire” on Friday. We hope it’s not a real race, because we just read it aloud today. We are going to go home thinking of things to tell y’all and will bring those ideas to school tomorrow. There are many similarities and differences between our schools. Thank you for the letter. We will send back our response as soon as possible.
I’m Lexie. I sent you my letter for the Great American Mail Race. I received your letters yesterday. Thanks so much for writing back! Is it okay if I write one letter back to Cassie, Rosie, Reiana, Madison, Susi, Jennifer, Janelle, Gabriella, and Jacob? It may take me a long time to write everyone back!
Sincerely,
Lexie

Lexie,
You are free to write whomever you choose. You have lots of options! Thank you for your note. Hope your week is going well!
